MAJOR
EARTHQUAKE DANGER PERIOD 6th-9th April - With updating News
....Urgent breaking news 6th/7th.... April see Earthquake reports below
Following on the dramatic confirmation by the Myanmar
Thailand M6.8 Earthquake 24th March of Piers Corbyn's (WeatherAction) Long
Range warning of HIGH RISK of a major Earthquake 23-27 March WeatherAction is
producing further trial forecasts of Severe Earthquake risk.
For confirmations links & videos see: http://bit.ly/hBHho1
These monthly trial forecasts are available to Weather
Action subscribers as part of USA and Extreme events 'Rest of World' Services and are also made fully public just before the periods
Piers Corbyn (5 APRIL) said: "The 6-9th April is our first major (Trial)
Earthquake risk period of April and comes with related extreme weather events
forecasts. In these trial periods we expect an increase in the serious M6.0 and above quakes in quake vulnerable
locations (and related increases in lower level activity*) around the world such
as the Pacific 'ring of fire'. This includes the WEST
USA which in this time period is probably more vulnerable than for decades.
* including of course more/larger aftershocks from earlier Quakes

5th April, there was:
- a peak in Disturbance storm index (Dst),
Spaceweather.com 5th April carries an amazing picture of an unstable solar filament. That site has also noticed an increase in 'unexpected' auroral activity in the last few days. There is more to the solar wind than standard measures of it!
6th April Geomagnetic Activity hit RED (K index 4.0 or above) http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/rt_plots/kp_3d.html
EARTHQUAKE NEWS also via #Earthquakes or #quakes on twitter various videos etc on http://www.weatheraction.com/displayarticle.asp?a=328&c=5 The USG links - M5.0+ http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_big.php - Wider list http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.php shows Earthquakes reports. Below we list recent M6.0 and above (Japan in brackets because of general disturbances there). The higher numbers are rarer. M7.0 has ten times the displacement and 32 times the power of M6.0 etc. On average an M6.0 or above (mostly at the lower end) happens every ~2.4 days or so somewhere in the world.

On 10 Apr 2011, Michael Sato wrote: Piers, I live in Iwate, Japan and follow you on twitter (@satomichael). My story about how we were prepared for the March 11th earthquake because of you and your team's work, was recently featured on the UK's Channel 4 News website http://www.channel4.com/news/japan-life-in-the-shadow-of-nuclear-crisis Similarly, your warming of another quake http://twitter.com/#!/Piers_Corbyn/status/55295137898704896 proved to be spot on. It hit last Thursday. I just wanted to say thank you and hope that this publicity is useful. Michael. On 10 Apr 2011, Jamie wrote: Its obviously impossible at the moment to predict exactly where an earthquake will occur as its too hard to determine the critical point when a plate will rupture. at least by Piers methods it can predict that a major quake may happen at a certain time and if consistently successful could be used to alert the most vulnerable zones. On 09 Apr 2011, steve wrote: Piers, The Icelandic increased activity virtually stopped after the 9.0 occurred in Japan, Still quiet today, have noticed increased activity in Peurto Rico region, Baja Calif region and Vanatu. Space Weather earlier passed that a CME was projected towards earlier today by sunspots 1185 & 1186. Keep up the great work, I am sharing your predictions at work to change the GW types. Steve On 09 Apr 2011, Marian M wrote: Regarding increased ertquake activity and conection to increased solar activity it is veryintressting. However it is possible that there are more than one effect at the same time what is influencing this. We have had in past many solar maximum but I am not sure if we had so many very big eartquakes such as last in Japan at the same time. But what is new is that north magnetic pole is mowing at much higher speed towards Siberia. I think this can be due to changes of the movement of the inner core, which probably have its own rotational axis which is now mowing at much higher speed as earlier probably towards Siberia. This increase in speed may cause changes in pressure on earth crust plates influencing earthquekes and vulcanic eruptions. Not only complete reversals are intresting but also exakt north pole geographic position back in time up to half milion years are important. Possibly connections between ice ageas and position of magnetic north pole should appear. Marian On 09 Apr 2011, Andrew Jones wrote: Piers - I think the way forward is thus: Keep making Earthquake predictions public - if they keep verifying (maybe something like a 90% verification rate) people will start to take notice. The big money however will start when the US has a large earthquake that you have predicted - as is always the case these days - if it doesn't affect America directly - few people seem interested. I wish you luck and I hope your work continues. @wkd2639 - you recognise me? :) On 08 Apr 2011, William Duncan wrote: The video is interesting - is this typical USGS behavior or is it to do with the potential government shut down? Keep up the good work. By the way tired to get reply from the business as to helping to promote WA in the US, but no reply as yet. William On 08 Apr 2011, Paul wrote: I see that there is a film called "Sinking of Japan" dated 2006. I don't think this will happen but if major earthquakes continue around Japan it make you think. On the Sky at night program some of the astronomers say that the supermoon has nothing to do with earthquakes but I can't see how. If the moon can exert a gravitation force on the sea it can also on the atmosphere and the earth itself. On 08 Apr 2011, Piers_Corbyn (Twitter address) wrote: Ron, yes a Eurolotto ticket! Appreciated indeed. Thanks very much - for the thought even if it doesn't turn into funds! Piers On 08 Apr 2011, Piers_Corbyn (Twitter address) wrote: Thanks for your points Guys... Hugh, yes the activity is significant compared with background because (i) The Mexico quake M6.5 is much more powerful + rarer than M6.0 & (ii) The Japan quake was the biggest since the giant one + multi-shocks on 11th March; maybe just put Japan below 6.5 in brackets or note more/larger aftershocks is a measure which went up; the evidence is clear... Mark, Well I agree about earthquakes & first experienced one (tiny) as an exchange student in - guess?! - Tokai Japan nuke facility 1968. These are trials & come from our Solar-Lunar-Action-Technique 6a which was firstly for weather & we will carry on trials. Others have had some success in the past & continue to do so as far as I can see (see notes in other quake thread 23-27Mar) but I am unclear about consistency & likely over-forecasting. As far as money goes this work is totally unfunded & attracts interest but basically no subscribers. I hope this note might urge some to become such!! Piers On 08 Apr 2011, Ron Greer wrote: Piers has done it again: a major earthquake, slap in the middlle of the bracketed period of likleyhood. predicted. Piers,I've taken an extra Eurolotto ticket tonight--if I get lucky--so do you! cheers Ron On 08 Apr 2011, Mark Lane wrote: Piers, For goodness sake, if you are the first person in history to be able to predict earthquakes (in time, if not in location) then put some scientific proof behind it. A proper statistical analysis should be able to determine whether you are on to something or not. This is far too important to leave to the market. I've been in earthquakes, and i've heard buildings fall, crushing their occupants. It is terrifying. Mark On 08 Apr 2011, Hugh Evan wrote: Not sure yet if I can see confirmation. Mexico falls in the pattern of 2.4 days, and Japan was "in brackets because of general disturbances there" but it appears the 7.4 is counted as substantially different from the other 6+ events in Japan? Has that to do with the magnitude (highest since the 9+) or what would make it different from the other "general disturbances"? On 08 Apr 2011, Piers_Corbyn (twitter address) wrote: Guys, THANKS VERY MUCH for your comments. We are very pleased with these Earthquake trials so far, the results compared with normal levels are clear verification. Len, it is an honour to hear such suggestions; thanks. My son Matthew, who is the CEO of Firsthand Weather in Anderson, S.C. was at the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK when all this severe weather was taking place.
